GASOLINE

Use unkoded

octane or higher gasoline. When fueling,

U.S. Coast Guard regulations, close off

all

hatches

and

companionways to prevent

fumes

from

entering

the

boa~

and

ventilate after

fueling.

NOTE:

The genera/or compartment should

hove

a gasoline fume

detector/alarm properly installed

and

working.

A primary fuel filter

the water separating type must be

installed between the

fuel

tank and the engine

remove

water and other contaminant's from the

fuel

before

they

can

be carried

fuel

system on the engine.

These gasoline filters must have

metal bowls (not "see-

through")

meet U.S. Coast Guard requirements. The metal

bowls have drain valves to use when checking for water

and

impurities.

Periodically check the fuel connections

and

out

the

pump and make sure that

leakage is present and that the

fittings are tight and secure. The engine mounted fuel

pump

maintenance

free.

fIlter element after the fIrst

Shut off the

fuel

supply.

Ensure there

pressure in

the

fuel

system

bleeding

off any existing pressure using a

Schrader valve on

the

throttle body and the fuel cell. Use a pressure testing kit

shown

below.

3. Unscrew the fuel bowl

from

the housing

and

allow

the

bowl

come away

from

the housing.

Remove and replace

the

filter element

and

clean the

bowl.

5. Inspect both O-rings. Replace if necessary.

6. Press on a

new

fIlter and replace the filter bowl.

Open the

fuel

supply. Inspect

for

leaks.

INLET

FUEL

FILTER

Shut off the

fuel

supply

the generator. Disconnect the

fuel

supply line

the inlet filter and unscrew

the

filter

from

the

pump inlet.

Take

care

catch

any

fuel

that

may

be present.

Thread on

the

replacement inlet fIlter and connect

the

fuel

supply line. Use care

when

connecting

and

tightening

the

fuel

supply line so

not

distort

the

inlet

fIlter.

3. Tum

the

fuel

supply

the generator

and

start

the

generator. Ensure that there are

leaks.

WARNING:

Shut

off

the

fuel

valve

the

tank

when

servicing

the

fuel

system.

Take

care

catching

any

fuel

that

may

spill
